Noel Bertram Gerson
Noel Bertram Gerson (1914-1988), whose novels are often listed as by Noel B. Gerson, was an American history author, who also wrote as Dana Fuller Ross; Donald Clayton Porter; Samuel Edwards; Carter A. Vaughan; Leon Phillips; Philip Vail, and Paul Lewis. The main themes of his writing included personalities and events in American history, including biographies of Sam Houston, Kit Carson and Presidents Andrew Jackson and Theodore Roosevelt. As Dana Fuller Ross, he wrote the popular ''Wagons West'' series; as Donald Clayton Porter, he wrote the ''White Indian'' series. Two of his novels, ''55 Days at Peking'' and ''The Naked Maja,'' were made into movies. In total he wrote 325 books of fact and fiction under his own name and the pseudonyms
Two of these books are Historic Naval Fiction based, although one, 'The Nelson Touch' is sometimes listed as 'Biography & Autobiography' so it is not completely clear whether it is a fictionalised account.
