 Naomi Novik's Temeraire series follows the global adventures of Captain William Laurence and his fighting dragon Temeraire as they are thrown together to fight for Britain during the turbulent time of the Napoleonic Wars. Whilst the inclusion of Dragon's may not appeal to the purists these books have a main core of HNF which is extremely well written and liked by those who follow the genre.
