Garland Roark

Garland RoarkGarland Roark (1904-1985) wrote many seafaring adventures and, under the pseudonym George Garland, Westerns. He held advertising positions with various stores in Texas from 1924 until 1946, when he quit to write full time.

His books are mainly about merchant ships and his first one, ‘Wake of the Red Witch', was made into a film starring John Wayne. Two of his novels are historical naval fiction and are listed below.
