Last month I was saddened to learn of the sudden death of Tom Grundner. Tom was a great supporter of historic naval fiction both as an author of the Sir Sidney Smith Nautical Adventure Series and as the Senior Editor of Fireship Press. But there was much more to him than that and you can read a full 



Dudley Pope (1925-1997) served as a merchant navy midshipman during WWII and in 1944 became a naval defence correspondent of the London Evening News. He went on to write carefully researched naval history and was urged by C.S. Forester to try his hand at fiction as he saw the younger writer as his literary heir. Among his work are two AOS fiction Series.
