Visitor, this is your update newsletter from June 2010 Thank you all for your support by subscribing to my newsletter. I know quite a few of you subscribed after the first issue was despatched, so if you want to catch up you will find the May issue available online here. Last month I was privileged to get an interview with James L. Nelson who has just released his latest historical work George Washington's Great Gamble, part of a factual series of books about American naval activity during the American Revolution. There is one brand new naval fiction title out this month together with non-fiction books. Brief information is given below with links to the full website articles. |

Each month I will provide a short bio of one of the authors on the site. This month we will look at Adam Hardy which is a pseudonym used by Kenneth Bulmer (1921-2005) and Terry Harknett (1936-?).
Together they wrote, as Adam Hardy, a series about George Abercrombie Fox which starts in 1775 when Fox, named after an uncle hanged at Tyburn, joins the Royal Navy as a powder monkey. The series has not been reprinted lately in English (though it has been in German) and whilst the earlier titles are fairly easy to pick up the last few are quite rare and can be expensive. If you have not seen one of these novels and order one you may get a surprise as they are relatively small and pocket sized. |
