Nick Hewitt has a degree in History from Lancaster University and an MA in War Studies from King's College, University of London where he specialised in Naval History before becoming a historian in the Department of Research and Information at the Imperial War Museum in 1995 and then joined Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust as the Head of Attractions & Collections in 2010
