The year is 1805. In the opening move of the Trafalgar Campaign, the combined French and Spanish fleet escapes from the Mediterranean and arrives in Martinique, where HMS Diamond Rock, the British ‘stone sloop’ dominates the Island’s main port. Incensed by ‘English impudence’ Napoleon orders Admiral Villeneuve to capture the Diamond.

While Nelson’s fleet hurries across the Atlantic in pursuit, Snowden in his frigate Columbine, Commander Kennedy in Oleander, and Lieutenant Luciani ashore harry the enemy in a campaign of irregular warfare.
