AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Although I am the Captain is in no way a seuel to Danger Below it also has 'Lucky' Joe Garton as its principal character.

Some twenty years have elapsed since Joe, a young R.N.R. Lieutenant, commanded the submarine '-Q17', and lived to tell the day. Now we find him back in the Merchant Navy, in commaand of R.M.S. Pacific Pearl, engaged in the routine transport od freight and paassengers to New Zealaand.

Under the watchful eye of his Chief Officer there is no possibility of the freight giving trouble on paassage; the passengers, however, are less predictable.

When Joe finds thaat aamong them are a number of people with whom he has mingled in the days of the War his consience, which was so largely responsible for the calculated risks he took while in command of submarines, once more gives him trouble, and makes the Liner's 'Voyage No. 30' aa memorable one for aall conceerned.
