An Irish farmboy leaves for abroad to escape a a murder charge, but whilst he is an archer in Spain he helps some Moors and ends up sentenced to the galleys. After regaining his freedom through an act of courage he is again sentenced to the galleys, but is freed by the Moslems.

He then becomes the terror of the Mediterranean as a Barbary corsair.
