It is the year 1805 and the family of Jack O'Reilly, son of an Irish immigrant and Cuban mother, is spurned in New England and his father cannot make a living even though he is a fine gunsmith. The family decides to return to Cuba and claim his mother's inheritance. Once they reach Cuba, they discover that their lands have been taken over by a rich and powerful Cuban noble. His parents are murdered and he is wounded in the attack. He manages to evade capture and makes it back to the ship that brought them and is accepted by the captain as part of the crew. What follows is an exciting cruise around the world where he encounters pirates, fierce storms, a shipwreck, and Pacific Island Natives. The circle turns and he finally returns to Cuba for revenge.
