From the Foreward: "Away up aloft, above the royals on the American clipper , they carried a rag of the sailships called a Moonraker. It was of very little use as a sail, and if it had any real purpose it was as a challenge to the wind. The clipper ship captains liked that. They sailed constantly challenging storm, the sea, anything which might oppose them."
